The catering company first opened its doors about 30 years ago and executes about 175 weddings per year. We asked Dana Ross, event executive at My Chef, what sets them apart from other caterers and she said it all has to do with the bond they create with their clients.
We pride ourselves on the relationships and connections we build with our clients while creating their customized menus and events.

Dana has always had passion for organizing, planning and executing events. Studying hospitality in college lead her into weddings.
I love working in catering because I get to work with a wide variety of clients from graduation parties to weddings.

The best part of working here is the transformation of the venues we work with. We can walk into an empty room, bring chairs, tables, linen, décor, food, etc. and create a masterpiece! Watching my client’s reactions once the room is transformed isPRICELESS!
That sense of transformation is what keeps the job exciting, and it all starts with the right foundational elements. Chairs and tables aren’t just functional—they’re part of the design story. Whether it’s a rustic barn wedding or a sleek modern celebration, choosing the right seating and surfaces can set the tone for the entire event. That’s why having access to versatile, well-crafted pieces is so important.
With options like sicotas furniture, planners can find styles that align beautifully with a client’s vision, from elegant dining chairs to minimalist tables that complement any theme. These pieces provide both form and function, ensuring the layout is not only visually stunning but also comfortable and practical for guests to enjoy the moment fully.
When booking My Chef, you will see that they offer a variety of serving styles which include unique buffet displays, action stations, parade style plated service, and family style.

Dana’s advice for newly engaged couples is to utilize a wedding planner!
They will make your planning process a breeze and can recommend other amazing reliable vendors. I would also recommend checking reviews! Many companies post reviews on their own website, Wedding Wire, The Knot, Google, etc.
We asked Dana why she loves working with The Haight and her answer brought us so much joy!
I love working at The Haight because the managers are prompt with their responses, organized, and fun to work with. I know that when I walk into The Haight we are going to have a successful event.
