TheMeeting
Tara & Ezra first met at Judson University in Elgin. They lived in the same dorm where they’d meet to play pool. One night, the two of them partnered up and ended up running the table all night!
The First Date
Our first date was mini golf Ezra hates to admit it, but I won! We actually still have the scorecard.
The Moment
Ezra is from Hawaii, so the summer after we started dating I flew down to visit. We spent two weeks in paradise and knew we didn’t want to travel/adventure with anyone else.
The Quirks
We are avid movie goers. Sometimes we go to the movie theatre three times a week and always get a large popcorn and Icee. Let’s just say quarantine has been rough!
The Proposal
We were visiting his family in Hawaii. We went out to dinner for my birthday at a super nice restaurant. Then walked around Downtown Waikiki to take a photo for our Christmas card. As his friend is taking the photo, he got down on one knee! I blacked out a little, but it was like in a movie. The whole crowd around us started cheering!
The Song
Our song is The Bones by Maren Morris. We love the meaning of the song and want our marriage to start strong from the beginning.
The Attire
The groomsmen’s suits were rented from Seno Formalwear in Rockford, IL. Ezra wore Barlll from Macy’s. The bridesmaids were Vera Wang from David’s Bridal. My dress was Christina Wu from Bridal Elegance in Ottawa, IL.
The Marriage
Since most of the months we’ve been married, we have been quarantined, we really found out the importance of having meals together at home. We don’t normally cook this much at home, but I think we will continue to after quarantine because we really get a chance to just focus on each other.
The Advice
Do not stress about your wedding day! Everything will go perfectly and if something doesn’t go as planned, don’t worry because none of your guests will even notice!
The Shoutouts
Lauren, at The Haight, went over and beyond on our wedding day! She rolled with the hiccups that came her way! Hello Rose Photography was absolutely fabulous! They captured the anything and everything of our day. They were like family throughout the whole process!
