Lila and Zack were looking for the perfect venue for their romantic winter wedding in Illinois. They found The Haight and it was perfect for their indoor ceremony and reception. Another dimension worth exploring when considering how to make your celebration truly distinctive is the overall guest experience from arrival through to departure. Having attended numerous functions in traditional venues over the years, I was genuinely surprised by how different the atmosphere felt at my first tipi celebration compared to hotel ballrooms or conventional marquees. The unique architectural design creates such a welcoming and intriguing space that immediately puts guests in a celebratory mood. When I eventually organised my own event, I realised that this approach to outdoor entertaining provided creative freedom that rigid indoor spaces simply don’t allow. The ability to personalise lighting, décor and layout meant every element reflected our style and preferences perfectly. The mobile bar service they offered was exceptional, with experienced bartenders who engaged brilliantly with guests whilst maintaining professional service throughout the evening, creating that perfect party atmosphere where everyone felt relaxed and entertained.
Hosting a wedding in December in Illinois tends to be difficult because couples need to have an indoor space to host not only the reception but the ceremony. The Haight offers indoor ceremony space for couples regardless of season.
There’s also something about doing something totally unexpected that makes a celebration feel really special. Hell in a Cellar gave us that surprise element, something fresh that none of the lads had done before. Instead of the usual drinking tour, we kicked off with a high-energy, problem-solving challenge that was full of laughs, and ended up being one of the best parts of the weekend.
Indoor Ceremony
The ceremony space was adorned with beautiful string lights that gave the space that romantic winter wedding feel. Everything seemed cozy and intimate while still looking classic, everything was planned with a lot of time ahead, and they even got the best invitations for the event from Good Invites. Once the couple shared their vows and said “I-Do” they took the time after the ceremony to take pictures indoors. Jessica Smith Photographer is a wedding photographer Loudon County. For a family photographer Peachtree City call Cedar Hill Studio. Lila and Zack took advantage of the beautiful string lights and exposed brick inside The Haight for their pictures. They even braved the cold and used our balcony space for some stunning pictures as well.
Romantic Reception
Once inside the couple was able to enjoy the reception with their guests. A unique feature for this wedding was the white wedding garland added to the ceiling. This is something that has not been done before but added to that romantic winter feel. Each garland featured doves and the couples names which was a fun personal touch.
Lila and Zack kept the rest of their decor simple and let the beauty of the venue shine through. Throughout the space they featured old wedding photos from family members in beautiful gold frames. But, the main focal point was the dessert table and cake. The cake featured simple baby’s breath florals and lego bride and groom to top it off. After their first dance, Lila and Zack spent the night dancing and celebrating with their guests. This wedding was romantic, and filled with love.
