The Meeting
Rachel and Sean met twelve years ago through the music scene, where they would see each other at shows around the Chicagoland area.
The First Date
Our first date was at Rachel’s place – we watched Silence of the Lambs!
The Moment
[We knew we wanted to get married] a few months into dating, wild! We had known each other for a long time before we starting hanging out and then dating.
The Quirks
[The quirkiest thing about us is] our weird sense of humor. It’s exactly the same!
The Song
[We don’t have] a specific song, but anything by Sleep. It was one of the first bands we saw together after we started hanging out.
The Proposal
[The proposal happened] in our kitchen. It was New Year’s Eve and we were getting ready to cook dinner and have a zoom “party” with our friends since no one could go out at that time. Then we got to celebrate NYE and our engagement with our friends!
The Wedding Day
Rachel and Sean celebrated their wedding with us on March 5, 2022.
Sean’s favorite part of the day was how beautiful Rachel looked, while Rachel’s favorite part was seeing Sean on the deck during their first look!
We also loved being able to celebrate with our family and friends!
The Venue
[We chose The Haight because] The layout was perfect, and the space is very much our style. Also, how helpful every single person that worked there was. We never felt stressed about planning our wedding day since The Haight is so helpful at guiding you through it and being there with you.
The Advice
Take time to enjoy the excitement and not get caught up/stressed about all the little things along the way. Take some time for the two of you alone after the ceremony! And definitely check out your space after it’s set up before the guests come.
The Marriage
[Our relationship] hasn’t changed much since getting married, to be honest, and we mean that in best way. We just think it has brought us closer!
