We have a beautiful summer wedding to share with you today! Kaitlin and Nick were looking for outdoor wedding venues in Illinois when they found The Haight. They wanted a venue that had outdoor ceremony space as well as an indoor reception space. The Haight fit their needs perfectly! We’re excited to share their colorful summer wedding with you!

Getting Ready in the Bridal Suite

Kaitlin’s journey began in our bridal suite, surrounded by her mom and bridesmaids. She looked absolutely stunning in a form-fitting lace gown paired with a cathedral length veil, adorned with the prettiest lace trim. After she was ready, she had a sweet first look with her brother, creating a precious moment filled with love. Then Kaitlin shared a first touch with Nick so that they could talk before the ceremony without seeing each other.

Wedding Party Photos on the Outdoor Deck

Before the ceremony, Kaitlin and her bridesmaids graced our outdoor deck for photos. Kaitlin carried a bouquet bursting with vibrant summer flowers that looked like it had been plucked straight from a garden. The bridesmaids had similar bouquets which popped against their sage green dresses. In some of the photos, Kaitlin held a bear made with some of her late father’s clothes. It was such a touching way to include him in the day.

Nick and his groomsmen also took photos on the outdoor deck before the ceremony. Nick looked handsome in his black suit with bow tie. His groomsmen looked equally sharp in their black suits and black ties.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony in Illinois

Their ceremony decor was elegantly simple, allowing the natural beauty of the outdoor space to shine through. Greenery lined the aisles while the rustic ceremony backdrop was adorned with a breathtaking floral arrangement.

One of the highlights of the day was the flower menu. Kaitlin and Nick had two of their friends wear fanny packs and walk down the aisle while throwing petals. It added a memorable and amusing touch to the ceremony. The couple exchanged personal vows and rings then sealed their love with a kiss. They had an epic bubble send-off which led to some beautiful ceremony exit photos!

Golden Hour Couple’s Portraits

Following the ceremony, cocktail hour began while Kaitlin and Nick took photos. The couple incorporated some of our enhancements like Jenga and corn hole for their guests’ entertainment during cocktail hour. Taking advantage of the golden hour, they captured beautiful portraits on our outdoor deck and in front of The Haight, showcasing the couple’s infectious joy.

Simple Reception Decor

For the reception, the couple chose simplicity to let The Haight’s character shine through. Greenery was used as the main table decor. The couple opted to use our plexiglass table numbers and candles to add warmth to the tables.

A Wedding Reception to Remember

For their grand entrance, Kaitlin and Nick had the bridesmaids enter as a group and the groomsmen enter as a group. Kaitlin and Nick’s entrance, accompanied by Kaitlin’s little brothers, set the stage for a night filled with love and laughter. The couple cut their two-tier cake adorned with beautiful flowers, enjoyed dinner during heartfelt toasts, and shared a magical first dance.

After that the dance floor opened to guests, and the night was alive with music and joy. In addition to a sweets table with donuts, Kaitlin and Nick provided late-night snacks, adding a delightful touch.

Second Line Send-Off: A Unique Conclusion

As a distinctive element, the couple chose a second line send-off. Dancing through the venue with umbrellas, followed by guests dancing with napkins, the couple created a lively and memorable exit. Sneaking back for a final private dance, Kaitlin and Nick concluded their night with a sense of intimacy and celebration.
