The Meeting
We both went to Harry D. Jacobs High School in Algonquin. We didn’t start dating until May of 2010, when we were both seniors. Really, Scott and I have been together throughout all stages of life. I think after a short time we knew we would be together forever!
The First Date
We don’t exactly remember since we were 18. But we like to say our favorite restaurant from back in the day, Cheeseburger in Paradise. We made sure to visit one of their establishments on our honeymoon in Hawaii too.
The Proposal
It was perfect!! We had just purchased our new townhouse and one day, when I had gotten home from work, I found a maze was waiting for me! Scott wrote me notes attached to string that led me upstairs to him on one knee…with a ring.
The Wedding Day
Seeing Scott for the first time when I walked down the aisle! We had been together at that time for 9 years and I was soooo excited to become his wife. It was great to celebrate with our friends and family all night too! We also loved our guest book! It was one of our favorite items at the wedding. We had a picture of us drawn from Miss Design Berry. It showed us with our favorite things, Scott holding a Harry Potter Wand and me, a pizza.
The Venue
Right when we visited the Haight, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. We loved the layout, staff, and the unique feel it had. The patio is gorgeous and we were so excited it was open on our day.
The Marriage
We have been together for now ten years and our bond has never been stronger. We are so grateful for each day we have with each other. We are excited for all the new experiences we get to share as a married couple.
The Advice
Make time for fun. Be ready to forgive & be each other’s greatest cheerleader!
