The Haight

Melanie & Aaron – 10.17.21

The Meeting

Melanie and Aaron met in high school when they were 15 years old. He was a football player, and she was a cheerleader.

Fun fact: [the football game where we met] was the only game that had fireworks!

The First Date

Our first date was our sophomore Homecoming Dance in high school!

The Moment

We knew we wanted to get married when we started looking at buying a home together. That really solidified the seriousness of our relationship.

The Quirks

[The quirkiest thing about us is] we are both goofs and like to make people laugh!

The Song

“Remember When” by Alan Jackson holds a special place in our hearts. Aaron took me to see Alan Jackson live for my 21st birthday!

The Proposal

Aaron proposed at our house warming party. I was totally surprised! He also had fireworks planned to go off when I said “yes”.

The Wedding Day

Melanie and Aaron celebrated their wedding with us on October 17, 2021.

Our favorite part of our wedding day was getting to spend it with all our loved ones. Covid took that away from us the first time. We also got to celebrate our wedding on our one year anniversary, which was special to us!

Aaron and I joke about getting married twice due to the pandemic postponing our big celebration, but the truth is – when you’re with the right person, you’d be completely content marrying them any day, any time, and however many times it takes!

The Venue

We chose the Haight due to the whole vintage look of the building. When Aaron and I viewed the place, he said “this is the place I always dreamt of marrying you in”.

The Advice

Our advice to engaged couples is: Don’t rush. Enjoy the time of being engaged and remember why you’re doing this: to marry your best friend.

The Marriage

Marriage changed us for the best. We immediately felt the difference of the union and it’s been the best decision we’ve made this far. We’ve never been this connected!

The Shoutouts

Our guests still talk about the food we served. Cuisine America executed our idea of a taco bar. The Still Life Photography was so patient and listened to all of our must have shots!

The Attire

Melanie got her dress and veil from Wosfelt’s Bridal.
